Dave Smith's Mopho: the Microkorg killer?![]() Original Source Ask yourself how often can you buy a brand new Analog synthesizer for $400? Usually if you go on craigslist you can find a used analog synthesizer for about $500. Now you can get one voice from the Dave Smith Prophet 08 Analog synthesizer for only $400. DJ Dusk's Rootdown Soundclash DVD : The quick review----no spoilers![]() This is one of those beat DVD's where you see heavyweight producers doing a live performances incorporating samplers and turntables just to get the crowd hyped. I have seen numerous youtube videos of some big producers (Just Blaze, Pete Rock) making beats in their studio. I like watching those, but watching a producer live make real time corrections in their beat to build up the crowd's reaction is priceless.

Junkman's Song
This is the first track I'm going to try and tackle from their Stones Throw/Now-Again release. The only really easy part to chop up is the first 8 seconds of this song.

Q-Bert's Tribute to J DillaSo recently I came across this gem across youtube and I was amazed at a few things.
In my Life
This track can be heard on the Kings of Diggin compilation on the Kon and Amir disc. 17 bucks for a compilation with over 50 hard to find breaks; count me in! The original album this In my Life song is off of is from Matthew Larkin Cassell's "Pieces". Once you hear this track, you may want to go out and find that record and see what other good songs he has got.

The Thing
Carleen and the Groovers had this rare song called "The Thing" which was featured on Now-Again record's Cold Heat Compilation. It was a straight instrumental track, nonetheless it was a sample worthy track because it stuck out to me.
