Latin Percussion 1.0: Properly Installing the sound library
I have read numerous threads on the Ableton forums where people are complaining on how they bought Latin percussion and both the grooves and the sounds are not installing right. This detailed tutorial should help you install a separate library for live 8 to avoid confusion of other Ableton version libraries. For example, if you install Latin Percussion into the same library as your live 7 sounds you might not get a full install or when you use Live 7, certain presets might not work. This way if you do a separate library install for 8, you will isolate any other problems you can come across.
If you don't want to read this tutorial and you just want the URL of the livepacks direct download page click hereSo here's how you install the Latin Percussion Step 1 Install Live 8 and pick a destination folder and make a whole new library folder. It would be wise to call it Live 8 or Live 8 library because there are still many users complaining about how Live 8.0.1 still crashes and you might lose library information. Step 2 Always back up your previous library files just in case bad things happen. Step 3 If you still haven't made a new library designation for live 8, start live 8 up. Step 4 Now click the options on the menu. Step 5 Now click preferences. That should bring up a whole new dialogue box. Step 6 Click the library tab. Step 7 Under the Live Packs title, hold your down arrow button until you see a link saying search for live packs Step 8 Now there should be a button below that that says Web. Click that and your computer should be hooked up online and it will use your default browser to bring up a download page. Step 9 Scroll down on the Live 8 and Suite 8 area. Now you should then see a download link for a file called Latin Percussion. Once you click this link there should be a download dialogue asking you where you want to save it.(The file is roughly around 435MB Step 10 Unzip that LatinPercussion_v8.1.zip. Step 11 Make sure that live 8 is already opened up. Now go into the folder where you extracted that zip file. Now double click that .alp file. Step 12 Now you should get an installation prompt to ask if you want to install this live pack onto your library. Click the install button to confirm. You should then get a message that Latin Percussion has been successfully installed. The overall install size is about 1.2GB
