Ableton Addict 3.11

Carleen and the Groovers had this rare song called "The Thing" which was featured on Now-Again record's Cold Heat Compilation. It was a straight instrumental track, nonetheless it was a sample worthy track because it stuck out to me.

0-5 seconds
So within the first five seconds of the track you should encounter a simple bass hit that just brings out the funk. The hat in this time segment is also layered with a bass hit, but throughout the track it's hard to find a hat sound isolated by itself. Now the kick comes in hard and boomy, while the snare comes in at a loud sound. The first snare you hear in this section should be good enough to mix with other drums.

What you are getting in this section of the song it just the typical drum break you find in the record. Now since I have the CD version I noticed it was cleaned up a decent amount so it wouldn't distort. It's a decent drumset to chop up and definitely a good way to write some tunes. I don't really hear too much of a good hat, more of just some nice variations with kicks and snares.
